My name's Danny, and I know those struggles all too well, because I've lived them myself.
For years I poured everything into my career and passions - scuba diving, filmmaking, and marine conservation - in order to have a positive impact on the world. I worked at nonprofits and supported field research in remote places; I spent years working the long office hours at production companies for feature films and blue-chip documentaries, before then jumping straight into physically-intensive weeks on shoots. I've hustled as an independent freelancer navigating all the above under the extra pressure of financial insecurity. For much of this time, my fitness took a backseat, and I started feeling the consequences physically and mentally.I knew I needed to make a change, but generic gym programs and fitness advice didn't mesh with my reality. Personal trainers didn't understand how to coach around my lifestyle.Towards the end of 2019, I began to develop my own approach to training and nutrition, that could flex and adapt to my unconventional career. It began as a personal experiment to build a better-looking body that I was proud of (because let's be real, this is something most of us care about). As new projects threatened to disrupt things, it evolved into a way to continue building and maintaining the strength and resilience I needed for work, without it all crumbling away whenever I left my home and my normal routines. I designed personalised training protocols that I could do on the road, and refined my nutrition strategies that worked on projects where I didn't always have full control over my diet (doubly important as a plant-based guy).Over time, everything changed.

I noticed that carrying my camera gear, my rebreather, or lugging around Pelicases, felt a helluva lot easier. I felt more energetic during long days of filming. I felt confident my progress wasn't going to totally slide backwards, because I had a proven game plan ahead of each project. I finally felt comfortable in my own skin (and wetsuit!).
In hindsight, this wasn't just a physical transformation - I built mental fortitude and developed my mindset in a way I never expected. I reclaimed agency over my body and mind, whilst becoming more adaptable and resilient in the pursuit of my passions as a result.This happened over the course of 5-years despite;
• The COVID pandemic shutting down gyms for 7-months across 3 lockdowns.
• Thereafter being involved in 12 film shoots, totally 34 weeks away from home in 10 different countries over roughly 3 years.
• Bouncing between 3 fixed-term jobs for 3 different companies before returning to self-employment and working for 3 other clients.
How I changed over time
Nowadays, resistance-training has become a foundational part of my life. It's essential for me to clear my head, regulate my emotions, and deal with whatever stress life or work throws at me.
Looking back, it has been character-building, not just bodybuilding.

SUPPORT & ACCOUNTABILITY, WHEN HOME & AWAY

At home we will have a weekly check-in over a call or by recorded video diaries, to review the last 7-days and prepare for the weeks ahead. You'll have access to me daily over private messenger for any in-the-moment questions or urgent updates. The support doesn't stop when you're in the field, even in a remote location. We will adapt our communication if needed, but so long as you have occasional internet or satellite contact, I'll be there to guide you throughout your trip.

Frequently Asked Questions
Not necessarily - but it is a game-changer. Whilst it's possible to manage your body weight without tracking, I've found that those who see the best results in the shortest time, with the most flexibility in the kitchen, tend to track their calories.
To make this as seamless as possible, we will use a calorie-tracking app to help both of us monitor your nutrition. Its extensive food database and barcode scanner make tracking simple and accessible, and after a few days it becomes second nature.
That said, if tracking feels overwhelming, we can explore alternative strategies to help you stay on top of your nutrition whilst still making progress.
No problem! I build your training program with you, not just for you. Your ongoing input will also help it evolve over time.
When designing your plan, I will factor in your preferences, past experiences, available equipment, and the most effective exercises for your goals. Let’s be clear - discomfort and challenge are part of the process, and most of the time, I’ll encourage you to push through. But sometimes, an exercise just isn’t the right fit, and that’s okay. If something feels off, uncomfortable, or just isn’t working as intended, we’ll adapt and find the best alternative together. The goal is to train effectively, sustainably, and in a way you actually enjoy! That's the key to consistency, and consistency = results!
Weekly check-ins are an important part of the program. They are one of the main ways I keep you accountable and help you navigate any early challenges, especially in the first month. However, I appreciate that life can be unpredictable. That’s why many clients transition to Video Feedback & Check-Ins after 1-month of settling into the program - allowing them to stay on track without needing to carve out a rigid and specific time for a call each week. It also makes far more sense to keep in touch this way when you're out in the field.
If you’d prefer this more flexible approach from the start (perhaps you're already drowning in Zoom and Teams meetings during the working week!), we can absolutely make that happen.
This is a big part of what makes my style of online coaching relevant to you! Balancing fitness with a busy travel schedule can be tough, and is something I can personally empathise with.
Over the last five years, I've had to fit training and adjust my fitness goals around hectic film shoots and work assignments overseas, sometimes lasting a few days, other times for several weeks. Sometimes there’s been a well-equipped gym nearby - other times, I've spent weeks at sea with no gym, no internet, and barely any free time.
All of that to say, I know how to adapt your training to accommodate a disruptive schedule. Whether you're hopping between time zones, stuck in hotel rooms, or navigating long days in remote locations, we’ll work together to create a game plan for your training and nutrition so that any upcoming travel doesn’t derail your fitness.
That said, I’ll always be upfront about what’s achievable in a given situation and set realistic expectations. If you’re aiming to hit a new PR, but have zero gym access and limited control over food options for the next several weeks, I won’t sugarcoat the challenges - but I will help you make informed decisions to minimise setbacks and stay on track. And once you’re home? We’ll get right back into it!
Absolutely! Whilst plant-based gym-goers do face some extra challenges (honestly, there are only so many lentils and chickpeas you can stomach in a day!), the science of muscle growth and preservation doesn’t change. If you hit the nutrition targets I set for you, you will see progress - regardless of whether you eat meat or not.
Need proof? Look no further - I started my fitness journey in late 2019 on a fully plant-based diet. Every progress photo you see above was built without meat. I spent the first three years as a vegan, the next two (and counting!) as a vegetarian, and I continue to make gains in both strength and my physique. If I can do it, you can too!
Aside from one month's notice, there is no minimum time commitment to the Natural Strength Accelerator. That said, I want to set realistic expectations from the outset. If you fully embrace the program, you WILL see measurable improvements in your strength and fitness within 3-months, but this is only the beginning of your journey. My goal is to help make resistance training and fitness a lasting, sustainable and adaptable cornerstone of your life.
Those who understand that this is a long-term process are the ones that will ultimately make the biggest transformation with their body, regain the most agency over their health, and create a greater sense of balance between looking after themselves and achieving the positive impact they want in the world.
